Cool Roscommon Castle Travel PicturesRoscommon Castle was built in the late 13th Century. Brian F O’Carroll of OCA undertook a comprehensive Topographical Survey of the Castle in 1981. Historical research was then carried out over a period of time in Ireland and the UK. The Castle is owned by the current Earl of Essex and plans are being prepared to Market the Castle and its surrounds as a major Tourist destination.
